Community & Volunteers

My Father’s House Lubbock, through the aid of its volunteers, foundations, supporters, and benefactors, provides women the chance to build new lives for themselves and their children. MFHL is funded through the faithful and consistent contributions of individuals, groups, churches, corporations and foundations.

Word Marathon

The Word Marathon is held the last week of every month and accomplishes reading aloud the entire Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. We need volunteers to spend an hour at a time reading aloud. God blesses the reading of His Word. Join us as we move through this year obedient to Him in reading His Word.

Volunteer Auxiliary

The Volunteer Auxiliary is a group of volunteers that serve during our high-need times and in a wide range of volunteer opportunities. This team serves a vital place at My Father's House. From newsletter labeling to gardening, to outreach events, we can use your help. For more information please call My Father's House Lubbock at (806)799-0990.

Mentors

Mentors are assigned to each student in the Christian Women’s Job Corps classroom training program. Each student is matched with a trained Christian woman who will be her mentor as she travels the road from dependency to self-sufficiency. Mentors encourage participants in their spiritual and educational growth. A mentor is an advocate for her student. She walks alongside her as a friend and encourager. She helps other people understand her friend. She is a role model demonstrating appropriate reactions to stressful situations, conflict resolution, and interpersonal relationships. She is a good listener, assuring her student that God does have the answer.
