Smith to Lead My Father’s House Lubbock

LUBBOCK – After serving as the interim program director at My Father’s House Lubbock since February, Paula Smith has officially been named program director of the transitional ministry to single women beginning May 20.

Buckner Children and Family Services assumed operation of My Father’s House on Feb. 22 and has been working to connect the two ministries and over the past months.

“Paula has been instrumental in helping smooth the transition between My Father’s House and Buckner,” said Michelle Harris, director of the Buckner Transition Ministries Network. “Her leadership and enthusiasm has brought such a great energy to the ministry. We’re excited to see where we’re headed.”

Prior to joining My Father’s House as the development director in 2007, Smith served as the director of human resources for Excell Services in Lubbock. She is also a licensed attorney.

Smith graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law and received her bachelor’s degree in business administration/economics from Regis University.

“I am thrilled to be chosen to lead the Buckner team at My Father's House Lubbock,” Smith said. “It has been such a blessing to be able to serve during the transition period and now, my joy is complete.”

Smith has two sons, Brian and daughter-in-law Melissa from Denver, and Eric of Lubbock.

My Father’s House Lubbock is an ecumenical ministry that provides a way for women who are poverty-impacted, homeless, abused or at-risk to take a new direction in their lives.
