Lubbock Ministry Becomes Part of Buckner (Feb. 08)
My Father’s House Lubbock became part of Buckner Children and Family Services Feb.22. Under an agreement between the two non-profit organizations, Buckner is assuming full operation of My Father’s House Lubbock, an ecumenical ministry to women in need in the Lubbock area. Residents Secure their Future at My Father’s House
Amy Talley is a self-described former addict. “Drugs, alcohol, you name it. I was very ‘of the world,’” she said. The 28-year-old mother remembers nights filled with drugs and men. “I could have gone to prison or to jail. My kids could have been taken away from me,” she said. Read more about the residents

Volunteers Make the Difference
June Hutson may be retired, but it doesn’t keep her from getting up early each Thursday morning and going to work. She arrives at the My Father’s House Lubbock kitchen, puts on some latex gloves and begins her meticulous labor of love – cutting carrots and loading hamburger buns to build sloppy joes.
