Classes for Single Mothers
• Christian Women’s Job Corps provides daytime and evening classes for women who are 18 and older. These 12-week classes offer preparation for college, a career or a GED. Learn more about the Job Corps.

• GED classes are offered for women 18 and older in the daytime and evening. This is done in collaboration with Lubbock Independent School District. Learn more about GED Classes.

• College participation is for women 18 and older. Available colleges are South Plains College, Texas Tech University, Lubbock Christian University and Wayland University. Learn more about College Participation.

• Career and/or vocational training for women 18 and older. Some options include classes in Texas Careers, Lubbock Cosmetology, American Commercial college and Texas Computer Training Institute. Learn more about Career and Vocational Training.

Residential Program
The residential program includes all of the elements offered to non-residents and incorporates a focus on the following:
• Opportunities for education and/or career training
• Offers Guidance on how to keep a healthy job
• Provides a path towards self sufficiency
• Provides housing and child care for mom and children
• Encourages and guides mothers to be effective and loving
• Allows women to equip themselves with skills to manage key relationships and responsibilities
• Guides participants in setting short and long- term goals and demonstrate them
• Helps women make personal choices that reflect a healthy and holy lifestyle
• Requires that participants own a vehicle and sustain payments and insurance
• Offers network plans that allow participants to stay in school or find a job even when their child may be sick

Children of Women in our Programs Benefit from
• Rising Star licensed Childcare (from 6 weeks old through kindergarten)
• After-school care (for resident children only)
• A vendor of CCS (Childcare services)
• USDA food program (two hot meals and a snack a day)

My Father’s House Lubbock is an ecumenical ministry that provides a way for women who are poverty-impacted, homeless, abused or at-risk to take a new direction in their lives.
